"Downfall"

Is a serial drama set in the years following the millennium up to the present day. 

It tells the story of a white man in his thirties who designed from the Public Service due to the changes in South Africa and how these affected him.

He decides to start his own business, but loses everything, which places him in a dire financial position and lands him on a blacklist.

His father takes him under his wing, and during this time, his mother dies form a liver virus. Later, his father marries his late mother's younger sister, who is also a widow.

The man decides to seek his fortune in the city where he becomes a carwatch. However, the scars of his former, more successful life cause distrust between him and his father.

Years later, his father dies of liver cancer. The man lives hand to mouth every day and, due to his financial situation, rarely visits his childhood home. 

More years pass, and his stepmother is murdered. He returns home and resettles in a small community.
